Our Company

EV Rods, LLC is a Long Beach, CA-based company. The company specializes in the electrification of classic vehicles, blending iconic automotive design with modern performance and reliability. Our engineering-first approach ensures that every project is not just a motor swap, but a comprehensively designed system built for performance, safety, and longevity.

Our Founder

EV Rods is led by its founder, Shawn Cun. As a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Shawn brings a unique combination of professional engineering discipline from his career in energy management and hands-on experience as a lifelong automotive enthusiast. His passion for performance and reliability is the foundation of the company's meticulous approach.

Our Flagship Project

Our philosophy is currently being put into practice on our flagship build, "Project Zero"—a 1972 Datsun 240Z. The goal for this car is simple: to create a machine that is not only beautiful but faster, more reliable, and more exhilarating to drive than the original, with the ultimate goal of a debut at the 2026 Japanese Classic Car Show.
